Fair Housing Act
Vivienda Equitativa Es la Ley en North Carolina

The North Carolina Fair Housing Act makes it illegal to discriminate in housing because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental handicaps, or family status (families with children).

The law applies to the sale, rental and financing of residential housing. Apartments, houses, mobile homes and even vacant lots to be used for housing are covered by the Fair Housing Act. With a few exceptions, anyone who has control over residential property and real estate financing must obey the law. This includes rental managers, property owners, real estate agents, landlords, banks, developers, builders and individual homeowners who are selling or renting their property.

La Ley de Vivienda Equitativa de N.C. determina que es ilegal la discriminación en la vivienda por razones de raza, color, religión, sexo, país de origen, desventajas físicas o mentales o estado familiar (familias con niños).

La Ley es aplicable a la venta, alquiler y financiación de viviendas residenciales. Casas, apartamentos, casas móviles y terrenos vacantes. Con raras excepciones, cualquier persona que tenga control sobre una propiedad residencial debe obedecer la ley. Esto incluye administradores y gerentes de propiedades de alquiler, dueños, agentes de propiedades, caseros, bancos, constructores o desarrolladores de propiedad que venden o alquilan sus propiedades para vivienda.
