Re: Lowering of NC state flags in Rockingham County in honor of Eden Mayor John Grogan

Gov. Pat McCrory ordered all North Carolina state flags in Rockingham County to be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset on Monday, July 8th in honor of Eden Mayor John Grogan. Mayor Grogan passed away on July 4th.

Mayor Grogan served his hometown of Eden for 28 years as mayor and city councilman. He was actively involved in the community where he participated in the Leaksville United Methodist Church, the Eden Rotary Club, the United Way, the YMCA, the Piedmont Sports Council, and chair of the Morehead Memorial Hospital Trustees.

Visitation will be held on Sunday at the Morehead House next to Fair Funeral Home in Eden. A celebration of life service for Mayor Grogan will follow on Monday.
