Re:                   Lowering of North Carolina Flags in honor of Senator Robert D. Warren, Sr.

Today, Gov. Pat McCrory ordered all North Carolina state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Senator Robert D. “Bob” Warren, Sr., who passed Friday, March 22, 2013.

In 1979, he was elected to the NC Senate and served from 1980 – 1988. In 2005, Senator Warren received two prestigious honors: the Order of the Long Leaf Pine and the dedication of a section of Interstate 40 in Johnston and Sampson counties which is named the “Sen. Robert D. Warren Highway.”

Flags are to be flown at half-staff until sunset on the day of his funeral service, which will be Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
