A Mail Service Center Number identifies Wake County agencies by location for delivery and billing purposes. A MSC number is used as a mailing address for all state agencies inside of Wake County. All MSC numbers have the zip code followed by the 4 digit MSC number. In case of a 6 digit MSC number, use the last 4 digits. (example: 20301 MSC, Raleigh NC is completed as 27699-0301)
Why did I receive mail back from the MSC marked "Return to Sender"?

When trying to location the addressee, we use the State Government web site directory, the state operator and will call agencies, if necessary, to help us locate the agency or person to whom the mail is addressed.
