Interoffice Mail
Interoffice mail is mail being sent from one Mail Service Center number to another Mail Service Center number.
Only State agencies inside of Wake County are assigned Mail Service Center numbers. We do, however, have a few city and county agencies in Wake County that use courier numbers.
Interoffice mail is billed at a fifty percent (50%) discount of the USPS rate for that letter or package size. You can view the USPS rates at www.usps.com/prices.
Interoffice mail is billed through our Fiscal Office through the Courier Service billing system and will show up as Class I in the billing description. The fifty percent (50%) discount will be reflected on your billing.
When addressing interoffice mail, please be sure you have attached a Mail Service Center Mailing Form, with a valid barcode number on the form. You can bundle all your interoffice mail with one mailing form. All mail types should be individually grouped with their own mailing form properly marked with the mail type. Example, all USPS mail should be bundled separately from Courier, etc.
