Flu Shot Bake Sale
The 3rd annual Flu Shot Bake Sale raised $224.50 for the Combined Campaign. The winning chance for naming rights was submitted by Everette Moore of the State Property Office, who selected the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The SECC Committee would like to thank our many generous colleagues who donated snacks and baked good for this event, and to the volunteers who helped staff the sales table.

Ann Waddle, a member of the State Employees Combined Campaign Advisory Board and DENR employee won the grand prize; four tickets to Food Network star Bobby Flay’s Oct. 20 appearance at Dorton Area, a “family four-pack” of admission passes and Fair T-shirts.

Congratulations to Valerie McMillan of the Secretary’s Office, winner of the SECC Guess-Who’s-Who contest. The prize is $20 cash and a photo frame.

See attached to learn who’s who is in the photo contest. Thanks to State Budget Officer Charlie Perusse for drawing the name, and thanks very much to everyone who played!

And the winner is…
Steve Davis, Executive Director of the State Employees Combined Campaign, visited DOA to draw the winning entry from our Blitz Week contest, which generated more than 400 entries. I am pleased to announce that the winner of the $100 gas card is Graphic Designer Jayce Williams! Congratulations to Jayce and, on behalf of DOA’s SECC Committee, our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in this extraordinary event.

Komen Walk for the Cure
Thanks to the 21 members of The Administriders, who participated in the Komen Walk for the Cure, more than $2,400 was raised to benefit vital breast cancer research. The sum also counts toward DOA’s SECC goal, giving us a considerable balance before the campaign officially kicks off.
