Fiscal Management
Robin Diehl is the Chief Financial Officer and Director of the Office of Fiscal Management which administers the budgeting, accounting, payroll and purchasing functions for the Department of Administration, Office of the Lt. Governor, Office of State Personnel, the State Ethics Commission, and the State Board of Elections.
The Office ensures proper financial reporting and accounting by all divisions and agencies by prescribing policies and procedures which are consistent with proven financial management practices and in conformity with requirements of the Office of State Budget and Management, the Office of State Controller, the Department of State Auditor, the Department of State Treasurer and federal funding agencies. Additional guidance and consultation in all financial and procurement matters is provided as needed to departmental divisions.
Diehl brings more than 17 years of experience in academia and government administration and eight years of banking experience to her role as Chief Financial Officer and Director of the Office of Fiscal Management.
Prior to joining the Department of Administration, she implemented the start up of the N.C. Education Lottery serving as Deputy Executive Director (DED) of Finance & Administration.
Diehl served as Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO) and Director of the Division of Fiscal Management for the N.C. Department of Commerce, as Assistant Dean in Finance and Administration at N. C. State University and as a systems accountant with Glaxo-Welcome and the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services. She has taught advanced accounting courses at a local college and holds a Masters in Accounting from NCSU and a BS in Accounting from UNCW.
