Internal Services and Programs
|
June W. Michaux Deputy Secretary |
Internal Services and advocacy programs in the North Carolina Department of Administration work on behalf of citizens and state employees to provide a voice for those in need and resources for those who use state-managed parking facilities or who choose to educate children outside of the state's public school system. Programs coordinate and collaborate with services of many state agencies and work for better opportunities in education, employment and community services for all North Carolinians.
Prior to becoming Deputy Secretary, June Michaux was the State Property Officer and also served as the Deputy Director of the State Property Office, where she was responsible for the state's real estate matters including acquisition and disposition of state property, property allocations, inventory of all state-owned lands and buildings and space in state buildings, and the overall administration of the State Property Office.
Before joining the State in 1997, Michaux served as the Deputy Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of the Winston-Salem Housing Authority, where she was responsible for the daily operations. Under her direction, the Housing Authority received a High Performance rating from the U.S. Department of HUD. She also served as both the Executive Director and Deputy Director of the Rocky Mount Housing Authority.
Michaux holds a bachelor of science degree from N.C. Central University and is a licensed N.C. Real Estate Broker. She has also served as an FHA Real Property Appraiser and as a vice president of sales for a real estate company.
