U.S. and NC Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Joshua 'Caleb' Gore

Governor Roy Cooper ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to half-staff beginning immediately until sunset Thursday, April 6, in honor of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Joshua 'Caleb' Gore who was among nine soldiers that perished during a military training exercise on March 29 in Kentucky. A native of Morehead City, North Carolina, Staff Sgt. Gore is a 2015 graduate of West Carteret High School.

Governor Roy Cooper ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Monday, April 3, in honor of former North Carolina Senator David Hoyle who passed away on Wednesday, March 29. Hoyle served nine terms in the North Carolina Senate and also served as secretary of the N.C. Department of Revenue. His funeral will be held April 3 in Gaston County.

Governor Roy Cooper ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to half-staff beginning immediately until sunset Friday, March 31, in honor of the lives lost during the senseless act of violence at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee on March 27.

U.S. and NC Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Former NC Congressman Jim Broyhill

Governor Roy Cooper ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Tuesday, February 28, in honor of former North Carolina Congressman Jim Broyhill who passed away on Saturday, February 18. Broyhill served North Carolina's Foothill region in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1963 to 1986 and briefly in the U.S. Senate. His funeral will be held February 28 in Forsyth County, followed by a graveside service in Wilkes County.

Governor Roy Cooper ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to half-staff immediately until sunset Tuesday, February 7, in honor of former North Carolina Republican Senator Jerry W. Tillman who passed away on Saturday, February 4. A native of Archdale, North Carolina, Tillman served North Carolina's 29th and 26th districts from January 1, 2003 until June 30, 2020.

A native of Conover, North Carolina, Isenhower, a Republican, represented the state's 45th District from 1986 to 1992 for both Catawba and Burke counties.

Governor Roy Cooper ordered all U.S. and NC flags at state facilities to half-staff immediately until sunset Saturday, December 17 in honor of Cumberland County Sheriff Deputy Oscar Yovani Bolanos-Anavisca, Jr., who died while in the line of duty today while investigating a robbery.
