22nd Annual Children's Trout Derby
August 4, 2023, 6am - 2pm
Fishing poles, bait, t-shirts, a chance for prizes, and much more are provided to pre-registered participants. This is a fun, family event where all children between the ages of 3-11 can enjoy a day of fishing in Cherokee. You must pre-register either Friday or Saturday to participate.
Lumbee Homecoming officially started in 1968, the year after Cheryl Ransom (Locklear) was crowned the first Miss Lumbee. It has grown since that initial beauty pageant into one of the largest events held in Southeastern North Carolina.
