22nd Annual Children's Trout Derby

August 4, 2023, 6am - 2pm

Fishing poles, bait, t-shirts, a chance for prizes, and much more are provided to pre-registered participants.  This is a fun, family event where all children between the ages of 3-11 can enjoy a day of fishing in Cherokee.  You must pre-register either Friday or Saturday to participate.

The conference is usually held the third or fourth weekend in June and lasts for 3 nights and 4 days. This year's conference will be held at UNC-Pembroke.

The Native American & Indigenous Student Alliance hosts the annual Duke Powwow. Dancers, drummers and audiences come from across North Carolina to participate in this visual and artistic representation of the strength and vitality of the Native American culture.
