| Contract Covers | The contract covers the State’s requirements for storage batteries for a variety of applications such as automotive, marine, golf, and back-up battery power. |
| Mandatory Contract | This is a mandatory Statewide Term Contract for state agencies, departments, institutions, universities, community colleges, and non-mandatory entities, including schools and local governments. |
| Delivery (FOB destination) |
All goods shall be delivered Free Carrier (FCA) to any state purchasing entity within the 100 counties of the State of North Carolina. Vendors will complete delivery within five (5) consecutive days after receipt of a purchase order. An order will not be considered shipped until all items in the order have been shipped to the State. |
| Minimum Order | The minimum order amount, which will qualify for prepaid Free Carrier (FCA), is $300 for a single order. Buyers are also required to use this contract for orders less than the minimum order amount. In that case, the order may be FCA, and actual transportation charges may be added to the invoice as a separate line item. Transportation costs charged for orders below the minimum order amount shall be commensurate with or less than shipping charges of major small package shippers, i.e. USPS. No surcharge or handling charge should be added or assessed for such orders. Vendor must provide an estimated shipping amount to the Buyer upon request. |
| Warranty |
The manufacturer’s standard warranty will apply. If a vendor warranty is offered, it shall be at least the level of coverage provided for its comparable customers. Vendors are authorized to provide warranty service and to repair equipment offered during the warranty period. |
| Core Charges | Core charges are included in the unit cost of each battery. Core charges shall not be billed separately. |
| Core Returns | The vendor shall not be given any battery cores in exchange for a reduced cost or to offset an included “core charge”. |
| Core Recycle | Battery Cores are addressed in a separate category within this contract and are administered by the State Surplus Property agency. | Substitutions | Substitutions are not permitted without prior written approval of the Division of Purchase & Contract Administrator and/or Manager. |
| Taxes | Prices do not include North Carolina sales or use tax. |
