Dillon C. Baldridge Governor Roy Cooper today ordered all North Carolina flags on state facilities to be lowered to half-staff beginning Wednesday, June 14 in tribute to Cpl. Dillon C. Baldridge.
The State of North Carolina Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission will hold its annual "Content of Character" workshop on June 10. The purpose of the workshop is to provide young people with a safe learning environment that allows them to participate in interactive sessions focused on building the character they will need to be successful in the world today.
N.C. Department of Administration Secretary Machelle Sanders today announced that 80 North Carolina college, graduate and law students are beginning paid internships across state government. “We welcome our student interns and look forward to the innovative, creative thinking they will bring during the program,” Secretary Sanders said. “The internship is an opportunity for students to learn about our state and careers in public service. Most importantly, our interns have a great opportunity to serve the citizens of North Carolina.”

N.C. Department of Administration Secretary Machelle Sanders today announced the department’s State Property Office will resume the sale of the old Rex Hospital property near downtown Raleigh. “After thoughtful evaluation, the State Property Office will resume actions to sell the old Rex Hospital site,” Secretary Sanders said. “This is a strategic decision in managing our state’s assets made in the long-term best interests of both the taxpayers and the state.” Commercial real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle will act as broker.
The License to Give Trust Fund Commission is currently accepting grant proposals from North Carolina-based non-profit organizations in a new streamlined grant process. The new process is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to increase the understanding of and support for organ and tissue donation, as well as advance care planning.
