Join procurement professionals from across North Carolina for the 2026 Procurement Excellence and Knowledge (PEAK) Conference, presented by the Division of Purchase & Contract and the Statewide IT Procurement Office. This year’s theme, “Smarter Procurement for Public Good,” emphasizes smarter approaches and tools that strengthen public impact. 

PEAK is for public procurement professionals from state agencies, universities, community colleges, and local governments. This year's conference features:

• Keynote speaker Beth Z, Your Nerdy Best Friend, presenting “Discover Your Technology Psychology”
• General sessions including leadership updates from the Procurement Directors’ Panel and Supplier Engagement and Development presented by NASPO
• Breakout session topics will cover areas such as Procurement Basics, Negotiations, eProcurement, P-Cards, and even Procurement Trivia

2026 Gold Star Agency Award

The Gold Star Agency Award recognize state agencies and institutions that excel in public procurement practices by demonstrating strong customer service, teamwork, innovation, and/or efficiency in one or more procurement-related categories. Nomination categories include Strategic Sourcing, Contract Management, Risk & Compliance, Operations & Systems Support, Procurement Education, and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB). Submissions must be for practices implemented between Jan. 1, 2025 and Dec. 31, 2025. 

Winners will be announced at the NC PEAK Conference on March 31 - April 1, 2026, at the McKimmon Conference and Training Center in Raleigh. 

Winning agencies will: 

• Receive distinguished recognition as your team is honored on stage with a trophy at the 2026 PEAK Conference
• Be featured on the DOA Purchase and Contract website and the PEAK page as a Gold Star Agency Award winner
• Showcase your agency's achievements by presenting a breakout session at the 2027 PEAK Conference
