The Department of Administration’s Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) in conjunction with the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s (NCDOT) Office of Civil Rights has developed a new streamlined process for businesses that qualify or are currently certified as Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) companies.

Governor Roy Cooper has joined President Donald Trump in ordering all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff tomorrow, November 7, 2017 until sunset on November 9, 2017 in memory of the victims of this tragedy. US and NC Flags should remain at half-staff until sunset on Thursday, November 9th.

Gov. Roy Cooper today ordered all North Carolina state flags to be lowered to half-staff on Friday, November 3rd, from sunrise to Monday, November 6th at sunset, in tribute to the Department of Public Safety employee, Geoffrey Howe. He passed on Thursday after suffering multiple injuries while working at Pasquotank Correctional Institution on Thursday, October 12th. Howe began his career at Pasquotank Correctional Institute just over a year ago, as a maintenance mechanic.

Gov. Roy Cooper today ordered all North Carolina state flags to be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, November 1st, from sunrise to sunset, in tribute to the Department of Public Safety employee, Wendy Shannon.  She  passed on Monday evening after suffering multiple injuries while on duty at Pasquotank Correctional Institution on Thursday, October 12th. Shannon began her career at Pasquotank Correctional Institute on Oct. 21, 2013 as a correctional officer.
